2000 – Billy Ray Cyrus devoted the day to charitable causes, his tour bus stopped in 16 different locations on Nashville’s Music Row to collect food for a food bank, and later the same night, he headlined a concert for the same charity.

1997 - Tim McGraw scored a number one album with Everywhere.

1992 - Singer-songwriter Roger Miller died of cancer at age 56. He's best known for "King Of The Road."

1983 - Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton had the number one single with "Islands In The Stream," written by Barry Gibb of The Bee Gees.

1984 - Alabama became the first country group to go triple platinum with their albums Feels So Right and Mountain Music.
